Thin PC’s

The Asus Eee thin pc

I had a thought the other day. What do most people use their pc for? Checking emails, chatting, tracking stocks & financial accounts, sharing pictures, reading news, researching deals. Activities that only require Internet access. Do they really need a local computing machine for all this? Can this not be done by something that has a similar size keyboard/mouse and Screen with a small size CPU/RAM/HD?

You could probably use the pocket devices or the palm/tablet. They can connect via Bluetooth or WiFi, but those have a small screen and its difficult to type on the virtual keyboard. You could use a smaller dimension laptop like a 11-13 inch one. But that still costs the same as a regular computer, if not more.

I think the new range of Mobile PC’s like the ones developed by Asus might be the pefect solution. It has a 7-10 inch screen, external keyboard, built in wifi/bluetooth and more. It starts around $250, which is cheap! Here is another one from Sylvania at $299.

The mobile pc’s from Asus have some pretty good reviews here. I think this device has the ability to bring about the next wave of Home computing revolution just like the PC’s did in the 90’s. What do you think?
